董：一個作家不能有居心，一個作家跟一個人一樣，你必須坦蕩蕩，你必須沒有任何居心。
梁：什麼意思？
董：是做人的居心，做事的居心，生活的居心，完全在你的計算在內，在你的calculation裡面，如果做人做得那麼calculative的話，人會有價值嗎？
梁：但是你說的居心跟文章經營不一樣吧？
董：完全不一樣。做人，我現在就是希望沒有做好文章之前先做好人。浦心畬教張大千畫畫教了半天，教了什麼呢？他會問張大千：「寫了詩沒有？」「有呀……教我畫畫為什麼問我寫了詩沒有呢？」「寫吧寫吧，寫得多自然會畫。」為什麼？是要他培養詩裡面的畫意，先打底，至於技術、技巧，那太容易了，練練就行了；但是胸懷難。你說我們做人不是一樣？真的是心裡面要有正氣。
